This year the BBQ will be held in Calaveras County at Twisted Oak Winery, owned by Jeff Stai WK6I.
Not only will you enjoy some great food and company, Jeff will be hosting the event at Twisted Oak Winery - which is a family-owned boutique winery in Vallecito, California, specializing in wine made from grape varieties native to the Mediterranean regions of western Europe.
You might also get the chance to meet some rubber chickens!
Lunch - Lunch will be in the backyard at their Murphys Tasting Room, located at 363 Main Street, Murphys 95247. Follow the signs to the backyard and stay to the right of the cones.
Time ~ Noon Social hour; 1:00+/- pm Lunch
Getting here - For most of you, getting to Murphys involves finding your way to Highway 4 in Stockton, and then heading east on 4 for most of an hour. Most of the rest of you will find your way to Angels Camp on 49 and then cruise up 4 a few miles.
Tour - For those that would like to stick around, a tour of the winery will take place early afternoon after lunch is over. You'll get to see where the wine is grown and made, hopefully see a little winemaking in action (tis the season), and visit the barrel cave for some tasting.
The
winery itself is located just a few miles away from the lunch location at
4280 Red Hill Road, Vallecito 95251 Chances are this will be on your way home anyway! (Make sure you go to 363 Main Street, Murphys 95247 for the BBQ first!)
The cost to attend is only $20 and if you bring your XYL/Partner then you just pay $35!
